Only when the last tree has died
and the last river has been poisoned
and the last fish has been caught
will we realize that we can't eat money.

Hi, I'm Tara! I no longer live in the disgustingly redneck state of PA, because I moved to New York City!! I'm 18! God are those two statements devine to type!

I would love to get into acting (once I feel comfortable enough to do so), or pursue something with singing writing or photography and a bunch of other things one day. I'm not exactly sure at the moment what I'll do for a career, but there are a lot of things I love.

I have a passion for everything to do with films and film making, as well as thousands of other things. The interest section below shows most of them, so I won't have to repeat myself here.

I adore anything history related, though US history really isn't my thing, since I hate the way its taught. I love european history (mostly Tudor era), anything to do with the Romans/Greeks, or ancient times. Really I love it all.

I have a million favorites movies which include, Elizabeth, Anne of the Thousand Days, Titanic, Rebel Without A Cause, Annie Hall, Life is Beautiful, Pretty in Pink, The Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty, Manhattan, Hannah and Her Sisters, Splendor in the Grass, Amadeus, Ordinary People, The Constant Gardener etc.

Things or acts that are so real, beautiful, truthful, poignant, expressive etc. that they transcend words are the things or acts that stick with me the most, whether they evoke feelings of sadness, hope, undestanding, outrage, or intrigue etc. Those are the things or acts etc. that inspire and enthrall me in every way. They could be a photograph, a gesture in a film, a piece of music, an experience, a tragedy, a look, truth itself, an epiphany, silence... and on and on.

Something that is definitely one of my life's passions is music. Its such a huge part of me. My musical tastes currently lie with the Beatles, John Lennon, The Doors, Bob Dylan, Black Sabbath, Janis Joplin, Joan Baez, Frederick Chopin, Green Day, Simon and Garfunkle, Led Zeppelin, The Guess Who, The Kinks, The Ramones, The Incredible String Band, Judy Garland, Edith Piaf, Mozart, Beethoven, Tiny Tim, movie soundtracks and bunches of other stuff. I love Celtic music, Renaissance, and other sorts of world music. I don't discriminate genre wise when it comes to music, I just like what I like. I do hate 99.9 percent of modern "music". I can't call it music when the person barely attempting to make it can't sing, or play any instrument known to mankind, yet gets fawning praise and showered in cash. All these people are are pretty little concepts, created in a boardroom. They say nothing, do nothing, and keep their masters happy. Nothing would please me more than to watch this culture fall apart, and to help it to fall the fuck apart. Revolution!

I am deeply into politics, and women's rights and equality. I despise Mr. Bush and his regime of bible thumping crooks. Goodbye assholes! Though Mr. Obama is not my idea of of a replacement. The words, misogynist, phony, and egomaniac come to mind when watching him speak...

My favorite tv shows are (though tv isn't in such great shape these days with 42 different crime shows to pick from....): Freaks and Geeks, All in the Family, South Park, Frasier, ER (before the show went into la-la unrealistic shit land), Roseanne, Will and Grace, Project Runway, The Daily Show etc.

My favorite books so far: The Bell Jar, East of Eden, The Catcher in the Rye, Packaging Girlhood, Gloria Steinem's various essays, The Mists of Avalon, The Harry Potter Series etc...

Peace

-Tara

"I sit beside the fire and think
of all that I have seen,
of meadow-flowers and butterflies
In summers that have been;

Of yellow leaves and gossamer
in autumns that there were,
with morning mist and silver sun
and wind upon my hair.

I sit beside the fire and think
of how the world will be
when winter comes without a spring
that I shall ever see.

For still there are so many things
that I have never seen:
in every wood in every spring
there is a different green.

I sit beside the fire and think
of people long ago,
and people who will see a world
that I shall never know."
